1. What are Paying Cadets (PC)?
Paying Cadets are basically the type of Cadets of Army Medical / Engineering College students. Paying Cadets are selected on the base of merit which is made on reserve seats of army servings and retired people. Parents of Paying Cadets students should be in Pakistan Army serving, retired, shaheed or any of them which is mentioned in the parent’s category.

Cadets are of two types. One of them is paying cadets. I will discuss paying cadets in this article because that is our main topic related to this article.

2. Types of Paying Cadets (PC)
When we start talking and discussing the paying cadets we further divide them into two subgroups. One is related to the Medical field while other is related to Engineering. Both of them are given below. I will try to give complete information about types and their tests and universities.

1. Engineering Paying Cadets
Engineering Paying Cadets are those which apply for Engineering group/program in any university of Pakistan which is affiliated to Pakistan Army for Paying Cadets Engineering Program like NUST (National University of Sciences and Technology Islamabad) and UET (University of Engineering & Technology). In Engineering Field any boy or girl can apply for admission.
2. Medical Paying Cadets
Medical Paying Cadets are those which apply for Medical Program in the any university of Pakistan which is affiliated to Pakistan Army for Paying Cadets Medical Program like AMC (Army Medical College Rawalpindi) and NUMS (National University of Medical Sciences Rawalpindi). In Engineering Field any boy or girl can apply for admission.
3. Availability of Application Form
The application form is available in all of the following places. You can get easily from there. As it is written on the application form always use the latest form. Never use the old application form due to your laziness. I uploaded here application form of 2018 just for your help. You can use this form as help and complete all documents for Practice to avoid the mistake in the original form. 4. Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria are the condition which tells you who is able to or eligible to apply for paying Cadets. Eligibility criteria set some conditions which are necessary to see before applies as Paying Cadets. There are some criteria which are mandatory for every student who wants to apply for Paying Cadets. So you should read all of them carefully before going to apply. Only Army brat can apply for Paying Cadets. Civilians are not allowed to apply for Paying Cadets.
5. Category of Parents
The students who are trying to apply for Paying cadets, their parents must be in the following list.
1. Serving in Pakistan Army
2. Retired from Pakistan Army
3. Military Engineer Services
4. Shaheed of Pakistan Army
6. Ineligibility

1. Test for Admission
As you all know without passing the Entry test you can't get admission in the any university of Pakistan. So for Paying Cadets as Medical or Engineering field, you must have to pass the exam and have enough marks to get admission in the university which is mention in the form for your required field. As you all know Different Universities take the different test at a different time. As NUST take NET (NUST Entry Test) whereas NUMS take NTS (National Testing Service). A NET test is taken three times a year while NTS two times in a year. There is a list of test which takes different university at a different time.

2. Form Filling
When you start filling the form, you should be very careful to write your correct information. If you write any false/wrong information then your chance to get admission straight forward will be zero. So it's your responsibly to write all the information correct. But let suppose if you get admission later your wrong information gets reveal you will be dismissed from University. You cannot do anything because they take oath from you if you write any wrong information then you will be dismissed from the university and you will be responsible for that. So make your future bright in the right university to make sure you write all the information very neat and clean. Any suspicious information can cause to miss your chance to get admission.
Selection of program or Priority of discipline
When you will start to fill the selection of program/priority of discipline, you should be very careful because it will make your high chance to get admission in the university as paying cadets. You should select those disciplines where you are sure to get admission according to your aggregate, don't select a high-level program without having a good percentage in the test. 3. Documents to be Attached with the Application Form
Those documents which are required for you to attach with your application form. These are the mandatory documents which you can’t miss to attach with your application form. Keep in mind all these documents are required Attested. List of all those documents is given below.
4. Submission of Application Form in GHQ
After complete, the application form and all the attested required documents which are necessary to attach with it. You have to send them to GHQ. You can send all these documents through Post or you can submit at Gate-3 GHQ by hand. Submit your application form before the last date which is mentioned in the latest application form. 9. Surety Bond-VMS
Before Surety Bond-VMS you already take the oath of these lines. "I hereby agree for 3 years Voluntary Military Service (VMS) and I will be bound to submit a surety bond at the time of getting admission. In case I fail to do so my nomination will stand canceled automatically”. So now you have to fill VMS Bond. Bond is to be signed by paying cadets for Voluntary Military Service in the Army for three years as Captain through Short Service Commission, after completion of the Degree. 10. Fee Concession

11. How Many Marks Needed for an Admission
Actually, this point should discuss before "Test for Admission" because here I will explain how many marks are required for you to get admission in Medical or Engineering field. Marks Criteria is different in all fields, so you should know about them. In the same ways, Marks criteria are different for different army Background Students like
1. Serving
2. Retired
3. Shaheed
The merit criteria for serving Pakistan Army is low than others. So you have a chance to get admission if you got 115+ marks in NET. But at the same time, your marks in FS.c should be at least 870+. Finally, I want to tell we can't give the exact figure because every year admission merits change.
According to given criteria in the picture. Let us take an example and try to calculate the Aggregate. Let you got 900 in SSC(metric) out of 1050 and 930 out of 1100 in HSSC(FS.c), and 130 out of 200 in NET. Your Aggregate will be calculated as follow.
· SSC(Matric)==> (900/1100) X 10 = 8.2
· HSSC(FS.c) ==> (930/1100) X 15 = 12.68
· NET ==> (130/200) X 75 = 48.75
· Add all of them to find Total = 70.01%
